Tag Day: April showers bring may flowers

May 31st, 2005 | Dan Kershaw | Fundraising, Newsletter, Stingray News

You can pick the day, but you can’t pick the weather. Still, many happy faces appeared to help raise funds in support of Southlake Regional Health Centre and our Stingrays Club. As many of you are aware, we have raised $50,000 over our 25-year history! Pretty amazing when you consider it’s our children sporting small donation cans and huge smiles who have raised those funds.

clip_image002Southlake Regional Health Centre will be honouring those that have raised $50,000 or more. So, to commemorate our generous donation, our own Newmarket Stingray Swim Club will be a part of that. Something for all of us to be proud of!

I can’t thank all of you enough, our Stingray family, for braving the weather for this worthy cause. It’s one thing to come out on a beautiful sunny day, but it speaks volumes when our families commit on the rainy cold ones.

I saw many delighted faces turn in their donation cans, jingling with change. This year we raised $1,596.43.

And a special thank you to the older swimmers who volunteered to help at the Ray Twinney Complex. Working together we can all make a difference!
