Hoedown Info Announced!!! Please Read!!!
Memo to: All Parents
Date: June 19, 2008
From: Steve Kingston, President
Subject: Magna Hoedown
Exciting news. As promised, the Newmarket Stingrays Swim Club have been selected to participate in and share the monies earned from Hoedown 2008, which will be on Sept.13th. The 2007 event raised over $50,000 for the Club. This is our fifth opportunity to participate in Hoedown and the first time we have been selected for a third year in a row.
We have been clearly the most successful organization over the past 2 years and are hopeful to be the number one organization again this year. There will be fifteen groups participating this year so the work will be spread out more, but so will the proceeds.
There are a number of commitments that we must fulfill.
SILENT AUCTION:
We have to generate a minimum of 10 items valued at $250 each. There is a substantial benefit to the Club to provide more items. This is a great opportunity for members to get out there and generate silent auction items. The proceeds from items that you generate will count towards your fundraising commitment. Watch for more information on deadlines.

RAFFLE TICKETS/EVENT TICKETS:
We are responsible for selling 1,200 tickets. Last year we sold a Hoedown record number of 3,285 tickets!! Each 2008-2009 Stingray member will be responsible for selling one book of tickets valued at $100. There are 15 tickets in a book and they are sold 3 for $20. We are strongly encouraging you to take more books to sell as any books sold in excess of the first one will count towards your fundraising commitment. This is the easiest way to generate $75 towards your fundraising commitment. You will be contacted when the tickets are available to arrange a time for you to pick up your book(s). Anyone not picking up or returning their book will have $100 charged to their meet fee account. New this year there will also be a $15 administration fee for not picking your tickets up and filling them out. Please do not make the volunteers chase you to get your tickets to you.
We will be responsible for selling 50 event tickets. Each year this event is sold out so get your tickets early.
