Many of the Stingrays swim programs are currently at maximum capacity, but we do have limited space available for children who were born between 1996 and 2002. Please see information below regarding our try-out camp.

The Newmarket Stingrays Swim Club will be hosting a tryout camp for swimmers who have never swam competitively, and would like to join the Newmarket Stingrays swim programs. Applicants will swim for five consecutive days for one hour each day, Monday-Friday. They will learn new skills and work on their stroke development with coaches from the Newmarket Stingrays. During the camp they will be evaluated, and it will be determined if there is a suitable placement available for them in the Newmarket Stingrays.
There will be a limited number of spots available within the club.
The tryout camp will be divided into two groups:
5:00 to 6:00 pm
- for children born in 1999 or later
- minimum pre-requisite: 15 metre swim, front or back crawl
- maximum of 20 children in the camp
6:00 to 7:00 pm
- for children born in 1996, 1997, or 1998
- pre- requisite: completion of Level 9 in the Red Cross Swim Kids Program, and/or be able to demonstrate front crawl, breaststroke, back crawl, standing dives, and be able to complete and endurance swim of at least 300 metres.
- maximum of 20 children in the camp.
