Senior Nationals- 4 medals for Stingrays!!

7 swimmers represented the Newmarket Stingrays at the Senior National Championships, which were held in Winnipeg, from July 16th- 20th.  The meet featured evening prelims and morning finals, to mirror the schedule in Beijing.

Sunday- Lindsay Seemann finished with a silver medal in the 800 freestyle in a time of 8:47.63, even splitting the race, and finishing behind Tanya Hunks, who is swimming that event in Beijing. 
Donald Ellison finished 2nd in the B final  (10th overall) of the 200 breaststroke, swimming very close to his lifetime best.  His time was 2:23.96    

 Saturday- Lindsay Seemann won the bronze medal in the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:13.97, which is her 2nd best time ever.  Matthew Swanston also won a bronze medal in the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:00.99, finishing right behind Tobias Oriwol and Keith Beavers, who are swimming the 200 back in Beijing.
Calan Eldridge swam in the B final of the 50 backstroke, and finished in 16th place in a time of 28.51.
Brandon Kingston finished 13th in the 1500 freestyle, in a time of 16:28.69.
Tessa Bain swam a good 50 freestyle in 28.59 just short of her best time

Friday- Brandon Kingston swam a best time in the prelim of the 400 freestyle, of 4:05.25, which is a new club record.
Jessica Pietrusiak did her best time in the 100 butterflly by almost a full second and a half, finishing in 1:05.12, which is a new club record.  Donald Ellison swam in the B final of the 400 IM, finishing 15th.

Thursday-  Matthew Swanston finished with a bronze medal in the 100 backstroke in a time of 57.24.  This is Matthew’s first medal at the Senior National level.
Calan Eldridge swam his best time ever in the 100 free, 52.73

Wednesday- Jessica Pietrusiak swam to a life time best in the 200 butterly, finishing 27th in 2:21.89.
Tessa Bain had a good 100 backstroke, finishishing in a time of 1:08.08
