Change in the Board of Directors
We are saddened to announce that Gabi Altman has resigned for personal reasons from the Board of Directors and her Team Travel portfolio. She will continue to work with the Club to ensure an orderly transition in her portfolio is made and to ensure that the swimmers’ interests are addressed. Gabi spent six years on the Board coordinating all of the travel arrangements for the Club. For the last three years she has not had a swimmer with the Club, but continued to look after all of “her childrenâ€. We are grateful for all of Gabi’s efforts and will miss her tremendously. We wish her well in her future endeavours.
With the vacancy, Sue Seemann will move from Membership Director to Team Travel Director and, in partnership with Susan Kingston, will handle the responsibilities of team travel for the balance of Gabi’s term. Sue and Susan have considerable experience chaperoning meets and both worked extensively with Gabi last year on planning the travel meets.
The Club’s by-laws mandate that in the case of a Board vacancy coming about in the middle of a term the Board is to appoint someone to fill the vacancy.
We have appointed Mari-Lynn Wikant to fill the vacancy resulting from Gabi’s resignation, and Sue’s portfolio shift and she will take on the role of Membership Director.
