The 2008-2009 Swim Season is on the way. With a new year comes new equipment. Come pre- pared with a cheque or cash available for all purchases. Multi-swimmer families are welcome to come at one time. Be prepared that it could be busy and may take a bit of time to get through the process. Be sure to take the time to go through your swimmer’s bag to see what is required. Please find below the times that your swimmer is requested to show-up to get GEARED-UP!

ABOUT GEAR UP DAY

In the past each swimmer was provided with the following equipment at the start of each swim season:

  • Team swim suit
  • 3 t-shirts (red/white/blue)
  • 3 latex caps or 2 latex caps and a water bottle or 1 silicone cap

The team t-shirts have been around for a couple of years and we have also been providing additional t-shirts for championship meets for a couple of years. Recognizing that some families may now have a substantial number of team t-shirts we have made a revision to the practice commencing this year.

At equipment pick up this year each swimmer will be provided with a team swim suit. Each swimmer will then have $60 to spend that day on Stingray Gear. This $60 will cover the cost of the basic “team kit” (as has been provided in the past) for anyone needing it. This $60 will be available to be used that day only and cannot be used on any purchases made from Aquapark at equipment pickup. The credit cannot be carried forward and used later in the season. Any credit not used that day for equipment picked up (or ordered if it is not in stock) will be lost.

There are many unique ways to use this credit to help defer your costs such as:

  • Apply it towards an upgraded swim suit (jammer etc)
  • Apply it towards the purchase of the team track suit if you have not already purchased one
  • Apply it towards hoodies or golf shirts

Keep in mind that the usual team dress code will still apply and that it will be the swimmer’s responsibility to replace lost or worn out items. As a reminder the dress code for meets is as follows:

  • Team cap if a cap is worn
  • Team swim suit
  • 1 red, 1 white and 1 blue t-shirt to be worn as directed by the coaches
  • Suitable deck footwear
  • Team track jacket and pants (AG5 and up)
  • Navy track pants or shorts (Development 1-3)

Commencing this season all swimmers in AG5 and up must have the new style track suit that was introduced last season. The previous suit is no longer acceptable.

Timing for Saturday….

  • 8:00 – 9:00 AG3 / AG4
  • 9:00 – 10:00 AG1 /AG2
  • 10:00 – 11:00 Dev1 / National & Senior
  • 11:00 – 12:00 AG5 / Dev2
  • 12:00 – 12:30 Dev3

Multi-swimmer families are welcome to come at one time.
