NEWS FLASH!!- 2 National and 3 Provincial records broken by Stingrays at Canada Cup!
It was a record breaking weekend for the Newmarket Stingrays at the prestigious Canada Cup meet which was held at the Etobicoke Olympium this past weekend.
Matthew Swanston broke 2 National Age Group records for boys 15-17 years old. The first one was in the 200 backstroke on Friday, in which he swam a time of 1:55.47 in winning the race.   The second one was in the 100 backstroke on Sunday, where he swam a time of 54.24 on his way to a third place finish. Both of these swims were also Provincial records for boys 15-18 years old.
Also, on Friday night the Newmarket Stingrays relay of Matthew Swanston, Matthew Huetl, Neta Yokev, and Brandon Kingston broke the Provincial record for boys 15-18 in the 4 x 100 freestyle relay in a time of 3:27.43
