Junior Provincials LC- Change in location!!
Due to the strong possibility of a strike by the City of Toronto employees, Swim Ontario became concerned about hosting Long Course Jr. Provincials in Etobicoke. Not wanting to be forced to make last minute changes they made the decision today to move the meet to London. The meet will be held at the Canada Games Aquatic Centre and will follow the same schedule as was planned for Etobicoke. The move to London was the only alternative available other than cancelling the meet.
There is not sufficient time for the Club to organize Team Travel for this meet. As such this will not be a Team Travel meet. Unfortunately swimmers will be responsible for making their own arrangements for travel, meals and accommodations. When we became aware several days ago of the possibility of this change taking place the Club made arrangements with the Four Points Sheraton (the hotel we use for the Hollandia meet) to set aside a block of rooms at a special rate.:
Four Points by Sheraton London is offering the standard (double queen beds)
and the king executive suites (king plus adjoining room with pullout coach)
in the main buildings $90 and the deluxe tower suites $110. These rates
are available to Newmarket Stingray swimmers and families during the Ontario
Long Course Provincial Championships 2009. The hotel is located at the Hwy
401/ Welligton St., London exit and about 20 minutes from the pool. There
are a variety of restaurants located close to the hotel.

Families are welcome to make their own carpooling and room sharing arrangements.
We realize that this change may unfortunately result in some swimmers being unable to attend. If your swimmer is not going to attend, or is only going to attend on some of the days, please notify the office no later than Friday June 19 so that we can withdraw your swimmer from the meet at no cost.
