World Championship Trials- 3 medals!
Newmarket Stingrays swimmers won 3 medals in total at the World Championships Trials which were held in Montreal from July 8th-11th. Lindsay Seemann won a silver medal in the 800 freestyle on the last day of the meet. She posted a time of 8:38.99  Winning the event was distance swimmer and 2008 Olympian Savannah King of Vancouver.
Also winning medals, was Michael Zoldos, who finished 2nd in the 400 freestyle in a time of 3:50.93, just behind 2008 Olympic bronze medalist Ryan Cochrane. Michael also won bronze in the 1500 freestyle in a time of 15:21.04

6 swimmers are representing the Newmarket Stingrays at the World Championship Trials, which are being held in Montreal from July 8-11th. The meet serves as the selection meet for the upcoming World Championships which are in Rome later in July.Â
Also being selected from this meet are teams for Canada’s “B” team which will compete at 2 meets in London, England in early August, as well as Youth and Junior Teams for an Australian tour in January 2010.
 Prelims begin on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 10:00am , and finals are on each of those days beginning at 6:00pm. On Saturday, prelims begin at 9:00am and finals begin at 4:00pm ( to accomodate live cbc tv coverage).
