March Swimmers of the Month!
Congratulations to our March 2010 Swimmers of the Month:
National Senior/Senior
Jeffrey Swanston
Jeffrey Swanston is the NS & SR swimmer of the month for March.
Jeffrey was at over 95% of the workouts during the short course season and in March his attendance was even higher. This combined with his hard work every day has helped him do best times in all events he has swum this year. This March, at the Canadian Senior National Championships in Montreal, Jeffrey bettered his best time in all five events he swam and qualified to swim the B final in four of them.  His best placing came in the 50 and 100 backstroke, where he placed 12th overall in each of them. This ranked him as the third fastest 18 & under in those events, as well as the highest ranked 15 & under boy at the meet, in any event.
Keep up the good work,
Alan Swanston

Kevin Wikant
Kevin’s attendance record for the season is 99%, he has only missed two workouts so far this season, and his attendance record for the month is 100%. He has shown everyone that you can be committed both to school and swimming.
Right from the start of the season Kevin has been very determined to improve himself; he is a very hard working athlete. During workouts you can really see how committed he is towards his swimming. It is great to see a person with passion who is not afraid to work very hard reach his goals.
Congratulations Kevin and keep up the good work.

Danielle Moffatt
March swimmer of the month honours go to Danielle Moffat for her excellent results at the Ontario Short Course Junior Provincials. Dani had an outstanding meet individually going 4 for 4 best times. In her 100 Br. Dani did a best time by 1.5 seconds and qualified for the Canadian Age Group Championships this summer. Dani also qualified for Age Group Championships in her 200 Br in which she took off almost 3 seconds from her previous best time. In those two events she finished 4th and 7th respectively both outstanding performances. Dani also swam both of the Individual Medley events very very well with a 13.5 second drop in her 400 IM and a almost 3 second drop in her 200 IM. She finished top 16 in these events as well! Overall it was very exciting to see Dani step up and race like she is capable of doing through out each and every one of her individual and relay swims!
Keep up the great racing Dani!

Tom Cooney
During the month of March Tom has had excellent attendance. He arrives to workout early and is always eager to begin workout, usually being one of the first swimmers in the water. Tom has a great work ethic and a never give up attitude. If there is something he is unsure of or is looking to improve an aspect of his swimming he is not afraid to ask. He gives 100% at every workout and leads by example. I look forward to seeing Tom race this May and June.
Congratulations Tom and keep up the great work!!

Jenica Whitla
Jenica Whitla is Development 3’s Swimmer of the Month for March. Throughout the month, Jenica has had outstanding attendance. At each practice, Jenica pays close attention to the skills we are working on and can be seen making efforts to incorporate them into every length of every workout. She has demonstrated initiative and determination to improve. Since the beginning of the season, Jenica has struggled with her Breaststroke kick but has improved tremendously because of all her hard work. She arrives to the pool with a huge smile and encourages others throughout the practice. Jenica has been a positive role model for the other swimmers in our group. Jenica’s love for swimming will lead her to improvements and great results in the future.
Congratulations Jenica!!
