The June Swimmer of the Month for the National Senior and Senior groups is Briana Kilty.

This June Briana raced at two meets; Etobicoke AGI and the Central Region Championships. At these meets she swam best times in 8 different events. Her biggest drops came in the 200 and 400 IM where she improved each by over 6 seconds, from last year, and in the 200 back stroke where she improved by over 12 seconds.  At the Central Region Championships Briana medaled in 3 events. She raced to a silver medal in the 200 IM and was crowned champion and received the gold medal for both the 100 Fly and 400 IM.

Briana will continue to swim through the month of July competing at The Ontario Junior Championships in Nepean and the Canadian Age Group Championships in Winnipeg.

Keep up the good swimming Briana,

Alan Swanston

AG1 and AG2

Tristan Beam

His attendance for the month was 100%, and the entire season Tristan’s attendance has been great. Also he has really improved his training habits since the beginning of the season.

In June he had two great meets. At the AGI meet in Etobicoke he qualified for the Canadian Age Group Championship for the first time in the 200 fly improving his time by 9 seconds. At the Central Region Championship he had 4 personal best times. In the 200 free he improved his personal best time by 3 seconds, and qualified for Junior Provincials and the Canadian Age Group Championship.

Congratulations Tristan and keep up the good work.

AG3 and AG4

Neil Wikant

AG3 and AG4 Swimmer of the Month honours for June go to Neil Wikant.  At the Central Region Championships Neil posted 7/7 best times, including 4 more Ontario Junior Provincial qualifying times and qualifying for the first time for the 2010 Age Group Championships to be held later this summer!  Over the course of the weekend Neil dropped over 40 seconds from his previous best times and, all of his 6 individual swims placed in the top 8 for the region, including a second place finish in the 200 Bk and a third place finish in the 800 Free.  Neil’s racing efforts are never in question, he is a tiger when he races, and he constantly surprises me in what his sheer determination can accomplish.

Keep up the great racing Neil!

Development 3

Tristan Fleury

The Swimmer of the Month for June goes to Tristan Fleury. Tristan has shown tremendous improvement since the beginning of the year. Throughout the year and month, Tristan has been eager to improve in all strokes. He works hard at practice and listens to the coaches. Tristan now knows that he needs to stay relaxed in the water, have long strokes and small fast flutter kick. He has also worked very hard on his turns and dives. Not only has he improved his technique, he has also improved in his races. Tristan has learned from his disqualifications by working on in practice what he needs to do to not get disqualified at the next meet. His times have also improved because of his hard work and determination to improve his swimming. We hope he has a safe and fun summer and we wish him good luck next year.

Congratulations Tristan!
