January Swimmers of the Month!
Congratulations to the January 2011 Swimmers of the Month:
National Senior/Senior
Sabrina Budiman
Sabrina Budiman is the NS & SR swimmer of the month for January.
Sabrina has been to 94% of the workouts this year and in December she attended 94% as well.
So far, this short course season Sabrina has swum personal best times in 12 different events. This is an outstanding achievement but the most exciting part of it is her newly developed talent for butterfly. This January she swam short course at the Etobicke A/B meet and long course at the Ontario Cup at U of Toronto. By the end of the month Sabrina had improved her 100 fly this season by 9.1 seconds SC and by 10.65 seconds LC. In the 200 fly the improvements this season were by 34.0 seconds SC and by 28.08 seconds LC.
Well done Sabrina,
Alan Swanston
AG1 and AG2
Garrett Boyd
His attendance for the month was 92%, and every month this season Garrett’s attendance has been very good.
At the A – B meet he had 9 personal best times, he finished first in four events and second in two. He had a great race in the 800 free and improved his time by 20 seconds, and qualified for Ontario Junior Provincials.
Garrett’s attitude has been great at every workout this season, and you can see that he is always trying to improve himself.
Congratulations and keep up the good work.

AG3 and AG4
Erin Bennett-Rilling
January Swimmer of the month honours go to Erin Bennett-Rilling in the AG4 group. Erin is a quietly brewing swimming storm. She is super stealthy at arriving and starting the workout but she has one of the best attendance records in the AG4 group at close to 95%. In workout she may be quietly tending her technique as well her focused and intense training habits but, her competitive forays so far this year, and highlighted for this past month, have been screaming out in awesomness! At the Etobicoke AB meet Erin dropped over 40 seconds from her previous best times in the 6 events that she did best times in. At that same meet she swam two events for the very first time and earned herself a “C” and “D” time in them. Then, just two weeks later at the Richmond Hill meet Erin stepped it up again and did another 5 best times including another 3 “C” times, bringing her total “C” time count to date up to 5. Having started the year with only 2 “D” times her dramatic improvements speak to the huge efforts she has been putting into her training right from the start of the year.
Fantastic work Erin keep it going!

AG5
Brandon Hobbs
The January swimmer of the month for AG5 is Brandon Hobbs. Brandon has an attendance of 100% for the month of January and for the year is at over 99%. He comes to workout with his usual “Devil May Care” saunter, but behind that exterior lies a swimmer who tries his hardest, at every practice, to get better. It is paying off.
Great job, Brandon, keep it up.

Development 1 and Development 2
Petra Brama
The January swimmer of the month for DEV 1/2 is Petra Brama. Petra has an over 95% attendance for the season so for. Her improvements, through the season, in both swimming and level of concentration during workout are clear to all. She absorbs information not only directed at her, but also at others, and tries to implement them.
Good work, Petra, keep it up.

Development 3
Thomas Gist
The swimmer of the month for January is happily given to Thomas Gist. Over the month, he has just hit a spark and has soared in the water. Each practice he listens to what should be focused on and it has surely showed in his strokes. His effort that he is now putting into each push off, dive, arm pull and kick is fantastic!
Keep it up! Congratulations Thomas!!
