Family Teams Needed for the ‘Are You Faster’ Event!
Good day Newmarket Stingrays members
“Are you faster than a 5th grader” is quickly approaching; the event is being held on April 30th from 6-9 pm. The event includes a series of swim races, a silent auction, and a reception. The Swim Club is looking to give back to the community through its partnership with Canadian Tire Jumpstart; did you know that 1 in 3 families cannot afford to put their children in organized sports and activities? ALL FUNDS RAISED through this event will go directly to Jumpstart to help those who struggle to access programs available in our community.
We are looking for participation from our membership in 4 areas:
- Enter a Team (family team, company team, neighbourhood team) to swim against our 5th graders and other members of the community (minimum $250 for a team of 4 members or $62.50 each) http://www.areyoufasterthana5thgrader.org/sign-up/.
- Sponsor a Team by providing a $250 corporate donation; we have many willing to swim and will be happy to swim under your banner – sign up at http://www.areyoufasterthana5thgrader.org/sign-up/.
- Donate a $100 for the opportunity to swim with or against your favourite swim coach. (email areyoufaster@newmarketstingrays.org or sign up at http://www.areyoufasterthana5thgrader.org/sign-up/
- Donate a silent auction item. (email areyoufaster@newmarketstingrays.org)
We will also be looking for volunteers to help run the meet and the event in the near future. Please join us for an evening filled with fun, festivities and a little friendly competition. Let’s continue the Stingray tradition of supporting members of our community.
