February Swimmers of the Month!
Congratulations to the February, 2011 Swimmers of the Month:
National Senior/Senior
Cameron Kingston
Cameron Kingston was the NS & SR swimmer of the month for February. This February at the Junior Provincial Championships, held in Nepean, Cameron made it to the finals in 5 events while winning medals in three of them. He came third in the 200 breast improving his best time by 4.79 seconds. He came second in the 200 IM improving his best by 3.13 seconds and he received the gold medal in the 400 IM where he improved by 7.95 seconds.
It is no surprise that with his 92% attendance and his hard work every day that Cameron is now the Ontario Champion – 400 IM.
Keep up the great swimming,
Alan Swanston
AG1 and AG2
Zach Shalovsky
Zach’s attendance for the month was 97%, and his attendance for the short course season was 90%. At the Ontario Junior Provincial Championship he had a great meet finishing first in the 100 back, breaking the meet record with a personal best time of 1.01.06 improving his time by3.5 seconds. He also won the 200 back improving his best time by 5.2 seconds, and finished 3rd in the 50 free and in the 200 IM.
Zach always has a great attitude at every workout, and you can see that he is focused on improving himself.
Congratulations Zach and keep up the good work.

AG3 and AG4
Danielle Hanus
February swimmer of the month honours go to Danielle Hanus in the AG3 group. Danielle is being spotlighted for her excellent racing at the Ontario Junior Provincial Championships held in Ottawa Feb 24 – 27, 2011. Danielle’s performances at the meet highlight where heartfelt and goal oriented racing, backed up by excellent attendance and focused training can take you! By the end of the meet, in her seven individual races she dropped over 25 seconds from her personal best times. This, in light of the over 35 seconds she had already whittled away from those best times in those events over the season, was an outstanding and inspiring accomplishment. Her performances at the meet also resulted in five medal winning performances, including earning the title of Provincial Champion in the 400 IM and Provincial Champion in the 200 IM.
Great swimming Danielle! Keep up the great work!

Development 3
Madeleine Ganzhorn
I am pleased to give the February swimmer of the month to Madeleine Gonzhorn. She was welcomed into the group in December coming up from splash, and has just done an outstanding job! She has worked very hard on her technique, kick and strokes and continues to improve each practice. Also, her butterfly continues to amaze me!
Congratulations Maddy! Keep up the fantastic swimming!
