March Swimmers of the Month !
Congratulations to the March, 2011 Swimmers of the Month:
National Senior/Senior
Jeffrey Swanston
Jeffrey Swanston is the NS & SR swimmer of the month for March.
Jeffrey was at over 90% of the workouts during the short course season and in March his attendance was 100%. This combined with his hard work every day has helped him become one of the best upcoming swimmers in Canada.
At the end of March, at the World Championships Trials in Victoria, Jeffrey bettered his best times in all three of the backstroke events which qualified him to swim them all in the A final. His best placing came in the 200 backstroke were he placed 5th overall. This ranked him as the fastest 18 and under in the event and in turn qualified him as a member of the Canadian Team to compete in Peru, this August, at the World Junior Championships.
Congratulations and keep up the good work,
Alan Swanston
AG1 and AG2
Ann Johnsen
Ann’s attendance record for the season is 97%, she has only missed five workouts so far this season, and her attendance record for the month is 100%.
Right from the start of the season Ann has been very determined to improve herself; she is a very hard working athlete. During workouts you can really see how committed she is towards her swimming. It is great to see a person with passion who is not afraid to work very hard reach her goals.
Congratulations Ann and keep up the good work.

AG3 and AG4
Selena Goncalves
March swimmer of the month honours go to Selena Goncalves in the AG4 group. Selena jumped into the AG4 group just before Christmas and she has been a trouper extrodinaire! Selena always, always, always comes to workout ready to give 100% effort and always, always, always leaves at the end of workout having done so! This girl truly pours every ounce of herself into every workout and, considering her attendance is well over 90% means that she is giving it her all on a daily basis. As a result of her hard work all year her best times have already dropped by over a minute and a half, and I’m sure they will continue in this downward trend as the year progresses.
Keep up the excellent work Selena!

Development 3
Cassidy Mann
Congratulations Cassidy for achieving swimmer of the month for March! Cassidy comes to practice each day with a smile on her face ready to swim! She works very hard and has had some great improvements at the swim meets this year. Her freestyle and breaststroke look fantastic and I can’t wait to see her continue to improve in the water each practice and at the upcoming meets!
Way to go Cassidy!
