Summer Nationals-Highlights!
8 Newmarket Stingray swimmers raced in Montreal this past week at the Summer National Championships and Pan American Games Trials.
The meet served as the selection meet for both the Pan American Games (Oct. in Mexico) and the Nations Cup ( immediately following the Nationals).
While the Canadian World Championship Team swimmers were absent, the meet was opened up to swimmers from other countries, including the U.S, France, Australia, Brazil, and Denmark. This made it potentially difficult to get into finals, so there was an A (1st-10th), B(11th-20th) and a C (21st-30th) final.
Congratulations to Matthew Swanston on his silver medal winning performance in the 200 backstroke.
Also congratulations to Matthew Swanston and Jeffrey Swanston for qualifying for the Nations Cup Team.
