2022 Ontario Swimming Championships (OSC) Highlights
The Stingrays was represented by 9 swimmers this past weekend at OSC. 5 of the swimmers qualified for finals and had a great showing with podium finishes by 2 swimmers - Claire Thorne and Maksym Klakov. The team placed 20th out of 86 teams. Congratulations Swimmers for the great results. #UnleashTheStings. Here are some highlights:
- Varsity Stingrays Alumni, Maksym Klakov was an inspiration to the current swimmers with a Silver Medal in 50m Freestyle, Bronze Medal in 100m Freestyle, and 5th in 200m Freestyle.
- The Nationals Relay Team had a terrific 10th place showing in the 4 x50m 16&O Freestyle Relay with a 14year old as a second leg!!! Their times were Maksym Klakov 23.97, Lucas Amaral 25.76, Tyler Da Ponte 25.28, Anthony Hoalga 24.29 Nationals Swimmer, Tony Hoalga was 9th in 50m Freestyle
- AG1 Swimmer, Lucas Amaral was 4th in 100m Butterfly and 7th in 50m Freestyle
- AG2 Swimmer, Claire Thorne won a Bronze Medal each in 100m Butterfly, 100m Breaststroke, 4th each in 200m Breaststroke and 200m Butterfly
- AG2 Swimmer, Eunice Cheung was 5th in 100m Butterfly
