Canadian Swimming Trials, Otters Spring Classic, & Dorado Stars Meet Recap

Newmarket Stingrays

Canadian Swimming Trials- Otters Spring Classic -Dorado Stars Meet

Great racing this weekend for the Stingrays.

Our swimmers competed in three different pools in the past week around the province.

Our Development groups attended the Dorado Stars meet, while seven of our athletes raced at the Toronto Pan Am Center at the Canadian Swimming Trials. The remainder of the team attended the Markham Pan Am pool for the Otters Spring Classic.

Below some of the highlights of our swimmer’s outstanding achievements:

Congratulations to Clarke Morrison who earned two final appearances at the Canadian Swimming Trials. On a 100m backstroke event she finished 3rd in the B final and came 10th in the 50m backstroke A final.

Congratulations to Matteo Mancini who broke the 100m breaststroke club record in the boys 13-14 years old category with a time of 1.09.69. This time qualifies Matteo for the Canadian Junior National Championships. Our club record had been standing since 1993.
