Markham Winter Invitational

The Markham Winter Invitational meet was held this past weekend at the Markham Pan Am Center, and it was a tremendous success!

A total of 83 Stingray swimmers participated, showcasing outstanding performances. The first long course meet of the season brought its challenges, but it was incredible to see everyone rise to the occasion, race hard in the morning, and deliver their best efforts during finals.

Congratulations to all our swimmers and coaches for their dedication and remarkable achievements!

Highlights and Achievements:

• Onna Okeke broke the club record in the 50m breaststroke with an outstanding time of 33.68.
• Jaime Foran achieved a qualifying time for the Ontario Swimming Championships in the 100m breaststroke.
• Olivia Wilson achieved a qualifying time for the Ontario Swimming Championships in the 400m freestyle .

New Year's Cup Highlights: Stingrays Shine in the 1500m Freestyle

The New Year’s Cup Sunday evening session brought incredible excitement and success as nine of our Stingrays took on the longest freestyle event in the pool – the challenging 1500m. The competition was fierce, but our athletes delivered remarkable performances, showcasing their determination and skill.

Here’s a summary of their outstanding results:

• Molly Browne: 5th place, OSC Qualification
• Maja Collins: 9th place, Personal Best Time
• Claire Dimitriadis: 4th place, OSC Qualification
• Luna Gomez: 1st place, OSC Qualification
• Matteo Mancini: 1st place, OSC Qualification
• Ashley Peterson: 8th place, OAG Qualification
• Isabella Sprogis: 2nd place, OSC Qualification
• Claire Throne: 3rd place, OSC Qualification
• Olivia Wilson: 2nd place, OSC Qualification
