Ontario Junior International 2023 The Ontario Junior International meet provides an opportunity for high performance swimmers to showcase their skills and talent in the pool. Their hard work and dedication to the sport of swimming is commendable. This year 77 clubs sent their best junior swimmers to Toronto to compete. Pickering Lisa Flood and York Santa Meet December 8th 58 Stingrays swimmers attended a swim meet in Pickering. All of the under the age of 10. As always, the meet delivered so many fast swim and fun relays. The coaches were proud to see that Provincial and Reginal qualifications were made and many personal best times were broke. The Newmarket Stingrays hosted the first Stingrays hosted meet of the 2023-2024 season at the Magna Center where 137 Stingrays Swimmers represented the club. Three years ago, the meet was named after Alan Swanston who is the mastermind in the success of the Newmarket Stingrays, a club that grew from about 35 swimmers to more than 200 ranging from ages 5 to 18, novice to Olympian. Rhac Fall Classic 2023 The RHAC Fall Classic meet was held at the Markham Pan Am center this past weekend and by all accounts it was great success. Speedo Canadian Swimming Championships is an annual event that provides swimmers from Canada and around the world with the opportunity to showcase their elite skills and abilities and compete for international recognition. Congratulations to all the swimmers who participated at the Ontario Swimming Championships. Fifteen swimmers represented the Stingrays at the highest-level provincial competition. Seventy-four clubs attended the championships and the Stingrays finished 16th on the overall team scored board.
